“Idol tumigil ka na” — Netizen’s reply to Senator Manny Pacquiao’s “don’t be too defensive” remark to PRRD amuses netizens

Andrew Olivar aka Boy Landi’s open letter in response to Senator Manny Pacquiao’s “Don’t be too defensive” remark to President Duterte has left netizens in stiches.

Olivar warned he will answer the senator for 12 rounds.

Basically, Olivar reminded the senator that President Duterte has the right to be defensive just like when he was defensive when criticized due to the Sarangani project.

Olivar reminded the senator that like in boxing, defense is necessary in politics. Otherwise, capitulation to repeated attacks is real.

Olivar went on to answer issues raised by Senator Pacquiao point by point using humor and wit with amusing effect while at the same time effectively parrying the senator’s attack vs President Duterte and his admin.

Olivar took a jab at Senator Pacquiao for leading a morale-sapping corruption allegation against government agencies/departments who are focused in their jobs to serve the people in the midst of the pandemic. Olivar joked that it is like asking a boxer who just finished a 12-round match to paint or make an explanation.

As of this writing, Olivar’s post has generated 3,000+ reaction, 741 comments and 416 shares since the FB post was published 2 days ago.

Sasagutin po kita ng 12 rounds..

1. Diba nung may ibinabato din sayo tungkol “daw” sa project mo sa saranggani ay naging defensive ka rin?

2. Diba idol kagaya sa boxing dapat may depensa ka din para di ka mapuruhan ng mapuruhan??

3. Tinatanong nyo sya idol tungkol sa korapsyon tapos nung sumagot sasabihin ninyong defensive. Parang mga babae lang na talak ng talak ng ganito “ano magsalita ka!! Bakit dika kumikibo? Aba magsasalita ka pac ang k@pal naman ng fezlak mo”

4. Idol kapag hindi sya nagsalita , sasabihin ninyo na Wala syang pakialam sa korapsyon.. tapos kapag nagsalita naman sya may masasabi parin na padalos dalos sya sa pagjujudge!!

5. Idol hindi pa po final yung pag audit ng COA.. dadaan muna sya sa proseso.. kailangan muna yung mga departamento at ahensya na pinaghihinalaan ay magexplain muna sila at kung hndi nagbalanse yung computation nila ay dun lang magsasalita si PRRD..

Alam mo yung mga nasa GOBYERNO ngayun ay nagtratrabaho at focus para makatulong sa bansa natin tapos gigimbalin sila na may corruption daw sa departamento o ahensya nila. Sa tingin mo makakapagfocus sila sa trabaho nila para malabanan ang pandemic.. alam mo yung pinag 12 round na boxing mo yung tao tapos bigla mo syang pagpepaintingin o kaya pagsusulatin ng explanation? alam mo yung pagod na pagod na sila tapos ikaw napagod ka lang sa sports mo?
