Forspoken AMD FSR 3 Patch Is Now Live; Brings Significant Performance Boosts Even on Low-End Hardware

Forspoken

A new Forspoken patch went live earlier today, introducing support for AMD FSR 3, the latest version of the upscaling technology by AMD, which also brings Frame Generation on all GPUs.

The new patch, which is rather small, weighing only 30.5 megabytes, doesn't bring any other change to the game besides introducing FSR 3 support and fixing a minor issue. The first tests shared online highlight how Frame Generation seems to work, bringing significant performance improvements even on low-end hardware, but with some issues, such as frame pacing issues. Regarding visual quality, however, the new version of AMD's upscaler still doesn't seem to be able to compete with NVIDIA's DLSS, although the addition of a Native AA setting is definitely welcome. According to reports, there don't seem to be major input latency issues as long as the baseline performance is decent, so it definitely looks like AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation could be a huge game-changer in the future once the frame pacing issues are fixed, as, unlike DLSS 3 Frame Generation, it will work on any GPU and even consoles.

Introducing AMD FSR 3 with Frame Generation support in Forspoken was definitely a good move, as the open-world game developed by Luminous Production suffered from performance issues even on high-end software, making the experience on PC far from smooth. Even if the game didn't suffer from technical issues, however, it would have been far from being one of the best open-world games released in recent times, as highlighted by Alessio in his review.

Forspoken is now out on PC and PlayStation 5 worldwide.
