Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Introduces Buster MAX Mode and 499 Patch Cards

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is just around the corner and Capcom has recently revealed a new feature that's probably already been predicted by the eager fans who can't wait to play the game Online. That is the fact that all 499 chips will be available to be used across every single one of the series' games as Patch Cards. Additionally, a new gameplay mode has been introduced that will make fights more streamlined.

The latest trailer/update for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection featured at today's Capcom Spotlight introduced a new message from Director Masakazu Eguchi (AKA Mr. Famous) in which he proudly announced that all 499 Patch Cards introduced from Mega Man Battle Network 4 and onward would be added to the game. This includes Patch Cards, Item Cards, Event Cards, and Special Cards that were only available as physical cards in Japan.

All 499 Patch Cards will be usable in each Battle Network game from Battle Network 4 onwards, allowing you to challenge the various bosses in the Battle Network series in new ways and cementing this collection as the ultimate way of playing each of the installments in the world-renowned series.

The Battle Network Legacy Collection will also introduce a new gameplay mode that will aid several players who either want to focus on the story or unlock all the Battle Chips to head off to PvP matches online. Buster MAX mode is a gameplay mode exclusive to the Legacy Collection that multiplies the MegaBuster's normal shot power by 100, allowing you to kill enemies faster and helping you build your Battle Chip collection.

All of these features can be manually turned on and off in your Online settings. In Battle Network 4, 5, and 6, you can enable or disable Patch Cards. Additionally, the Buster MAX feature can be turned on or off at any time during the story based on how you want to play each of the ten games featured in the Legacy Collection. Of course, this feature will be turned off by default for online matches, so while this helps beat the story content, you will depend on skill to beat other players.

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection also includes over 1,000 illustrations and 188 music tracks that you can peruse in Gallery Mode. Additionally, the game's online features will allow players to connect with each other not just to match each other but also to trade Battle Chips. The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam on April 14.
