Bethesda Game Studios has just released Starfield patch 1.7.33 on all platforms (Xbox Series S|X, Microsoft Store, and Steam). The update weighs around 728.4 MB on Steam and mainly fixes a few bugs. Perhaps the most noteworthy one is the texture blurriness that used to happen whenever the game's native AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 upscaling (or one of the DLSS/XeSS mods) was enabled.
Modder doodlez had to deploy an upscaling fix mod on Nexus, explaining that the developer didn't set negative mipmap bias, causing the aforementioned blurriness of most textures. With the new Starfield patch, the mod shouldn't be needed any longer. Below, you can find the full changelog:
Clearly, this is merely a stepping stone toward much bigger Starfield patches in the future. Bethesda already promised the following features to be coming soon:
Last week, Bethesda announced that Starfield had surpassed 10 million players in roughly two weeks since the game's September 6 launch. Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said that the studio will continue to update the game for a long time to encourage replayability and keep users interested in maintaining their Game Pass subscriptions.
PC users can also now download Halk Hogan's excellent HD Reworked Project mod to increase the fidelity of many textures.
