Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition Rated by Singaporean Board, Hinting at Imminent Release

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition

The Singaporean game rating board (IMDA, or Infocomm Media Development Authority) has listed Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition for PlayStation 5.

The listing suggests an imminent release of this new edition. Given Jeff Grubb's rumors that a new State of Play should be aired soon, it's likely Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition may be announced in that broadcast.

Its contents are rather obvious: the base Horizon Forbidden West game and the Burning Shores expansion, which launched on April 19th for $19.99 and added the titular volcanic archipelago formed from the ruins of Los Angeles. Interestingly, the Singaporean rating changed (from a recommended age of 16 to 18) from Horizon Forbidden West to the Complete Edition because the Burning Shores DLC includes an optional romance for Aloy.

While the listing is only for the PS5 version, it's likely Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will eventually launch on PC, just like the predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition.

This sequel was a bit overshadowed due to its proximity to FromSoftware's Elden Ring. However, it's still a great game in its own right, as I mentioned in the 9/10 review.

Horizon Forbidden West is a worthy sequel to Zero Dawn in every way, proving that Guerrilla is no one-hit wonder when it comes to the action RPG genre. This huge and beautiful world has an incredible amount of things to do and most of them are really fun, thanks to improvements to combat and traversal. The game also features another great storyline that will get fans talking about the inevitable sequel.

It also sold well, surpassing 8.4 million units as of April 16th. It's little wonder, then, that Sony and Guerrilla have massive plans to expand the franchise with as many as sixteen different projects, including a third single player entry, the announced online co-op game, and the Netflix adaptation being worked on by the showrunner of The Umbrella Academy.
