New NVIDIA Geforce Hotfix Driver 537.09 Addresses Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Performance Fluctuations

NVIDIA has rolled out Geforce Hotfix driver 537.09 for the PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which aims to address some performance fluctuations.

Rift Apart was released for PC last month, featuring various NVIDIA RTX features, including RTX IO, Ray Tracing, and DLSS 3. In addition, as confirmed by Sony's porting studio Nixxes, the game also supports Intel XeSS as well as AMD FSR 2. Some days ago, the team behind the PC version of this former PS5 exclusive released update v1.808.0.0 for the game, packing visual improvements, enabling ray tracing on AMD GPUs, fixing various bugs, and more.

Following the release of this update, NVIDIA has now released a hotfix driver that should resolve issues between DirectStorage and in-game settings, causing in-game performance swings. "Performance fluctuations due to issues between DirectStorage and some in-game settings", the official release notes for this hotfix read.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is available globally now for PC and PlayStation 5. Here's what our very own Chris Wray wrote about Insomniac's masterpiece in his launch review back in 2021. "You'll soon be able to read my conclusion; it appears at the bottom of this review next to my score, so let me finish by saying one simple thing: it may not be cool to love a game, but I love Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart", he wrote. "I'm well known as a cynical curmudgeon. I want to like games, but the industry manages to grind the optimism out of me by releasing grey rubbish (in a literal and metaphorical sense), often packed with predatory tactics. This is the sort of title that reminds me games are still worth believing in. If Returnal didn't already do it for you, the PlayStation 5 finally has a brand new game that makes it worth owning, and it's a must-play."
