The latest version of the PlayStation 3 emulator RPCS3 has made emulation of the third Sony home console more convenient on all sorts of hardware, as the changes it brings allow for much better performance on mid and low-end GPUs.
Version 0.0.28-15302, which can be downloaded from the emulator's official website, brings performance improvements for a variety of titles, such as the Gran Turismo series, on mid and low-end GPUs that lack fast GDDR6X memory. High-end GPUs also see some improvements, although far more limited.
Improvements to GPU performance on weaker hardware were added on RPCS3 v0.0.28-15302
This change can result in a massive speedup in games such as GT series on smaller GPUs without super-fast GDDR6X memory, but there are diminishing returns on the highest end stuff (e.g RTX 4090)

How much of an improvement the latest version of RPCS3 brings is showcased in a new video shared by Alexwpi, which highlights the performance enhancements in Grant Turismo 5, Gran Turismo 6, Skate 3, and Sonic Unleashed.
RPCS3 is among the most impressive emulators ever made, capable of at least booting every PlayStation 3 game ever made. The project, whose main goal is to preserve the console's legacy and its vast library, made great strides in the past few years, allowing PC users to enjoy games that were not natively ported to PC, such as the original version of The Last of Us, the first entries in the God of War series, FromSoftware's Demon's Souls and many others. More information on the emulator can be found on its official website.
