Xbox Game Pass Adds FIFA 23, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and More in Late May

FIFA 23 Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has revealed the titles they’ll be adding to Xbox Game Pass on PC and consoles in late May, and it’s a nice lineup for fans of footie and indie games. The headliner is FIFA 23, available through EA Play, which is part of Game Pass for PC or Game Pass Ultimate on console. Other additions include the excellent painting-themed Zelda-like Chicory: A Colorful Tale, as well as Day 1 releases Railway Empire 2 and Planet of Lana, to name just a few.

Here are your headliner Game Pass titles for the next couple of weeks:

FIFA 23 (Console and PC via EA Play) – Available Now

“The World’s Game is available today from 10am PT with PC Game Pass & Ultimate via EA Play. Hit the pitch today, plus claim monthly FIFA 23 member rewards. Experience HyperMotion2 Technology on Xbox Series X/S that delivers even more gameplay realism, the addition of women’s club teams, and more.”

Chicory: A Colorful Tale (Console and PC) – May 30

From Wccftech’s review – “Chicory: A Colorful Tale is an ambitious, absorbing, and creative Zelda-style adventure with some meaningful, heartfelt things to say about the creative process, self-doubt, and other big issues. Like its characters, Chicory isn’t perfect – its controls can be a bit clunky and maybe its painting tools aren’t as versatile as they could be – but it’s an easy game to love. Does it fall slightly short of masterpiece status? Perhaps, but it’s still very much worth adding to your art collection.”

These games will also be available in late May:

  • Eastern Exorcist (Console and PC) – May 18
  • Ghostlore (Console) – May 18
  • Cassette Beasts (Console) – May 25
  • Massive Chalice (Cloud and Console) – May 25
  • Railway Empire 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 25

Xbox Game Pass grants players access to more than 100 games for 10 bucks a month, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also gets you Xbox Live Gold and EA Play access — you can check out a full list of available console and PC games here.  You can sign up here.

Not a bad little lineup, particularly if you're willing to try some slightly outside-the-box indie stuff (I definitely recommend Chicory strongly). So which Game Pass titles do you plan on tackling over the next few weeks?
