The Custom Survival Mode for Streets of Rage 4 is one of the highlights of this newly implemented patch. In this mode, you will be able to tweak your survival experience with a variety of options, letting you tailor your experience to your liking. You can adjust features such as the Starting Level, Elemental Perks, Enemy Scaling, and Hazards alongside various other options.
Other modes also have been expanded thanks to this new update. The training mode is now even wilder than before. You can even add characters to teams for CPU vs CPU action, as shown below:
Turns out there are so many things we forgot to list some in the Changelog!

Co-Op attacks are another staple that was added to Streets of Rage 4 following this update. Players can hold the pick-up button to grab their partner and fling them. Afterward, the airborne player can press a button to unleash a unique attack. Other changes include the addition of Cursed Arcades in Mania+ difficulty and changes to the combo counter and stage transition system that will allow players to keep the combo going without dropping.
But that's not all. The reason why this is a major update is that it also has a gigantic amount of balance changes for all the characters. Universal changes include lots of reduced hitstop, the ability to have all charged attacks able to hit multiple enemies, and increased stun on air-down attacks. However, every character found in Streets of Rage 4 has been balanced in some way by this patch, making for a total of over 300 improvements across the board.
Some of the changes also include changes for Survival Buffs, like making Glass Cannon reduce defense by 60% instead of 100% and Allied Donovan being able to master more weapons while Allied Mr. Y now starts in an angry state and is also capable of juggling enemies with bullets.
