Ubisoft to go “All-in” on Assassin’s Creed; 4 Game Projects Planned [RUMOR]

Ubisoft Assassin's Creed

The last few years have been pretty rough for Ubisoft. The company has been constantly declining financially. Additionally, the company's recent endeavors, such as the Mario + Rabbids sequel, haven't been as successful as they have wanted. However, it doesn't seem like they are going to give up on things just yet, as it's been revealed that Ubisoft will go all in on the Assassin's Creed property, with four games currently being planned.

This comes from Insider Gaming as its sources revealed that in addition to the currently announced Assassin's Creed Mirage, Codename Red, Codename Hexe, and Codename Jade, three more projects are currently in the conceptual and prototype phase, codenamed Nebula, Raid, and Echoes. Each of these new Assassin's Creed titles will be developed by different studios and will have vastly different playstyles from its predecessors.

Another tidbit of information revealed by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming is that the series will be going back to its annual release cycle, with major entries being significantly different from the last. The first, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, is scheduled to release around August of this year, followed by Assassin’s Creed Nexus soon after (2023). From there, we have tentative release dates with Codename Red being scheduled for 2024, Assassin's Creed Invictus for 2025, and Assassin's Creed Hexe for 2026.

Of course, it's worth highlighting that these are tentative release dates. While they might be aiming for those release dates, the internal release dates are currently uncertain. Given the company's history with delays that have become quite absurd with some of their current projects, such as Skull & Bones, it wouldn't be surprising if at least one of these projects gets unexpectedly delayed further into its correspondent year.

As for the other three Assassin's Creed that are currently in their prototype phase? Insider Gaming states that given the 5-6 year minimum development time for games like this, we shouldn't expect any of these titles to come out anytime soon. Still, according to Insider Gaming's sources, Codename Red is already in good shape, with the game focusing on stealth and two playable characters.

Once again, since this is still unconfirmed, we urge our readers to take this information regarding Ubisoft's upcoming titles with a grain of salt. After all, while these projects are currently in a planning stage, they could be cancelled before they get off the ground. Assassin's Creed Mirage will launch in 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Stadia, and even Amazon Luna. The game will be available on PC for users with a Ubisoft+ subscription.
