Yorme Isko Moreno’s “…I do not run on promises. I run on prototypes” statement draws jeers from lawyer critic, netizens

On Yorme Isko Moreno describing what his presidency would be like if he won the 2022 polls, he said: I will be a healing president. I will welcome criticisms. I do not run on promises. I run on prototypes.

Prototypes? Atty. Ahmed Paglinawan aka AGP took to Facebook to ask Yorme Isko because he does not the meaning of the word but to test of the latter even know what he was talking about.

Atty. Ahmed asked 2 more questions to squeeze intelligent answers from Yorme.

What does that even mean?

You run on something untested and unstable?

Atty. Ahmed ended the brief FB post with the conclusion we are looking at presidential aspirant who is?

What a dumb dude.

Atty. Ahmed’s FB post and cross examination of Yorme Isko has attracted a lot of engagement from netizens.

One netizen cared to explain the meaning of “prototype” and asked if Filipinos want to be Yorme Isko’s guinea pig?

Prototype is like the first model of something. It will go the process of testing or trial and error for some time before it becomes perfect. Good example was SpaceX rocket that went thru several modifications before it landed successfully. But thru the process several of the prototype versions crushed or exploded. In other words, Isko will try to govern with untested methodology. Filipinos do you want to be a guinea pig?

To which another netizen replied: What protoptype are u talking about? Im sure it’s going to be just like in the philippine movie that has nothing new to offer, just the same old storyline. You dont even have to watch it coz you alreasy can conclude whats going to happen early on – trash.

This netizen further elaborated the explanation of the first commenter what “prototype” means.

Yun! Na dale mo! nagtaka ako nung sinabi nyang prototype.. like… what?? test lang ng test!? “let’s try this one… *BOOM!!! oops… let’s go back to the drawing board… How bout this one?… *BLAM!!!! nope… not this…” Kaya mahalaga talaga yung track record yung mamamahala since yung strategy eh subok na.

Meanwhile, another netizen preached the importance of choosing a leader who exhibits steadfast leadership – one who can deliver his promises and stand by it no matter even if it means moving mountains just to get things done.

Well, what can we expect from someone who doesn’t know the importance of platform in governance. You make promises as your goal and you stick to it and achieve it, anu to testing lng lhat pgmali stop o pg hindi mo gusto stop tapos palit ng goal. This is not the kind of steadfast leadership that we need, what we need is a leader who can deliver what he promises and stand by it no matter what. Has strong political will that can move mountains if need be not a person who doesn’t have anything in mind. Hindi po come what may lng ang governance kasi bansang Pilipinas po nakataya dito not unless iba ang interes mo. In short may ‘Bayag’ hindi may bayad. Yawa!😂

Meanwhile, this netizen thinks Yorme Isko just wanted to impress the common people.

That was also my question. I think the good mayor was just trying to sound presidential by using high strung words to impress. But the choice of word is simply not coherent.

Prototypes meaning he doesn’t have anything substantial to offer, nothing concrete, all testing the waters. No solid proven track record. In short, he is running as an intern. If HR tayo, bagsak to. Not enough experience to qualify him, commented another.

Another netizen noticed the irony of Yorme Isko’s statement that he will welcome criticisms.

Welcome daw nya criticism? But when he was called out for allowing Manilenyos to wade through knee-deep flood waters from dawn to dusk to avail of vaccination, nagalit agad! Poseur etong mamang eto. Let me borrow your words – “Tinotolonges mo kami“.
