Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles of the Luminous has made a reaction post to the open letter from the Martial Law Museum in the Ateneo to Toni Gonzaga.
Atty. Trixie expressed disinterest in making comments on the issue but the open letter changed her mind.
Atty. Trixie said she was slightly worried the critics of the Marcoses need to go such great lengths to silence those who are seeking to make a balance of the narrative of the Marcos era.
Who made you guys dictators of who to interview? Atty. Trixie asked.
Atty. Trixie asked if an interview with Bongbong Marcos is prohibited? Otherwise, she can’t help but conclude the critics of the Marcoses don’t want the other side to be heard. She asked if they agree with her, that in research, which is essential to academic study, means one need to endeavor to get the complete information on matters of historical events. She wondered if the other side if they alone have the monopoly of opinion, experiences during the Martial Law years? If critics don’t welcome new perspective? New information?
Atty. Trixie remarked that Bongbong Marcos is qualified to talk about the Marcos period being the son of the former President and his opinion is valid because it is based in first hand information.
Atty. Trixie figured that the critics of the Marcos don’t want Bongbong Marocs heard because they are insecure their narrative, which is biased and fragile, an interview with BBM would shatter it and expose the flaws of their single historical perspective.
In other words, their narrative is but porous.

Haaay. Ayoko na sana magkumento, pero eto lang ha? This is an open letter from the Martial Law Museum in the Ateneo.
And I am more than just slightly concerned about the apparent efforts to shut up and out those who seek to balance the narrative of the Marcos years.
I mean, who made you guys dictators of who to interview?
Bawal pala mag interview kay BBM? Bakit? You dont want that side to be heard? Hindi ba research, which is essential to academic study, means you endeavor to get complete information on matters of historical events. Ano, kayo lang may opinyon? Kayo lang may karanasan sa panahon na iyon? Kayo lang may alam? Bawal ang bagong persoective? Bagong impormasyon?
Bongbong Marcos is a primary source of information of the period in which his father was president. He was RIGHT THERE. He has an opinion, one that, despite your whiny cancel culture, is a valid one based on first hand information.
Why dont you want him to be heard? Are you worried that the narrative you built is so biased and so fragile, one interview from BBM would shatter it and reveal the flaws of your single historical perspective?
Weak.
Reaction?
